Brooklyn engagements split cleanly in two. Along the waterfront from DUMBO to Williamsburg and down through Gowanus and Industry City, it is agencies, product studios and e-commerce brands: teams that already ship software and want AI inside it without losing control of cost or quality. Further in, it is the same mix of practices, contractors and family businesses as the rest of the city, where the work is automation of paperwork and training the person who runs the office.

Both get the same flat $50 travel fee on top of the hourly rate. I reach the waterfront on the PATH and the A, C or F; for Bay Ridge, Flatbush and Canarsie I drive.

For studios and agencies

The common request is to put a language model or image model into a product or a client workflow without a surprise bill or an unexplainable output. That is the problem Fire, my inference API, was built to solve: one interface across 53 models and 19 providers, a published price on every call, and a log of everything. A Brooklyn studio can be running on it the same afternoon, and I can sit in the room while the first integration goes in.

Image work is a Brooklyn specialty, and it is mine too. ImageLab, my generation studio, runs the same style-tag and multi-model pipeline I used to produce every illustration on this site.

For everyone else

A dental practice in Bay Ridge and a design agency in DUMBO have the same first problem: a process that costs someone a day a week. The first session finds it. Then I either fix it in the session or quote a fixed price to build it, and I train whoever will own it afterwards. No retainer unless you want one.

Learning it yourself

Brooklyn has more people teaching themselves to build with AI than anywhere else I work. The Forge is free and has no signup wall; the Bootcamp is thirteen weeks of building a real project with me; and one-to-one sessions are $150 an hour, on Zoom or at your desk.

Three ways to start

  • Book a session. $150 an hour or $375 for three, Zoom or on-site with the flat $50 fee. Book here.
  • Learn to do it yourself. The 13-week Bootcamp ($4,500 once or $1,650/month for three), the Unleashing AI seminar, or The Forge, which is free.
  • Get a system installed. Orchestration Setup puts a multi-agent AI stack on your own cloud from $500. Larger builds are scoped after a first session.

Questions people in Brooklyn ask

Can we meet in a coworking space or a café?

Yes. Plenty of Brooklyn sessions happen at a shared desk in DUMBO or Williamsburg. For anything involving your credentials or customer data I will ask for a private room.

We already have developers. What would you add?

Thirty years of production experience and a working AI stack to point at. Most developer teams want someone who has already made the mistakes with agents, model routing and cost control, so they do not have to.

Is Brooklyn inside the flat travel fee?

All five boroughs are, at $50 per visit on top of the hourly rate.
